SDS Recruiting Basketball: Interview 2014 SG Trevyn Roberts
I had the opportunity to conduct an interview with a shooting guard from the class of 2014 Trevyn Roberts. Trevyn is a 5 foot 11 shooting guard out of Mill City, Oregon. I created a list of 10 questions that I believe our audience would find interesting about the life of a young basketball recruit. These are the questions that I asked, Trevyn followed with his answers.

Question: What universities are in your top 5? What are the 5 universities that you have been in contact with the most?
Roberts: My Top 5 are University of Portland, TCU, Portland State, Martin Methodist, and Oregon State. I have not been in contact with any of them.
Question: What do you look for in a University?
Roberts: I look for a great coach-player relationship, a good campus and an excellent opportunity
Question: Does the fan base of the University make an impact on your recruitment?
Roberts: Not an enormous impact, but I would like to be wanted wherever I go.
Question: Based on national media and fan bases do you care about what conference you play in?
Roberts: I do not care what conference I go to, I just want to fulfill my dreams and make my mother proud.
Question: What do you consider being your best attribute?
Roberts: I can shoot the ball, and a quick first step.
Question: What would you say your work ethic is like?
Roberts: I am willing to put in time and work to be the best i can be. I have slacked in the past, but the past year or so i have had an exceptional work ethic.
Question: What would you consider being your strength?
Roberts: Of course my shooting.
Question: What would you consider being your weakness?
Roberts: I’m, not as quick and athletic as guards now and days.
Question: During the off-season, what areas of your game do you work on most?
Roberts: Quickness, Defense, Shooting.
Question: What College or NBA Athlete do you idolize and how do their skill sets match yours?
Roberts: I certainly like Isaiah Thomas and Nate Robinson. I Also Like Jeremy Lin not just because linsanity, but because he has a story behind his career.
