For the first time in recent Olympic history America’s men did not qualify for the Olympics.  On March 26, the United States men’s national team was eliminated from the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament with a 3-3 tie against El Salvador. These games would be dominated by Mexico and Brazil.

The finals were exciting to watch as Mexico was able to hold of the Brazilian team to win gold. The final score was Brazil one and Mexico two.

The American women came into London looking for revenge against rival Japan. Japan had beaten team USA in last years World Cup in penally kicks.

This time around the American women would have their revenge. The final score of the gold medal match between the United States and Japan was USA two Japan one.
