SDSU Football & Basketball: Humid Christmas Paradise In Aztec’s Future?
The San Diego State Aztecs Men’s Basketball will be playing in a basketball tournament in Hawaii this coming fall, possibly the football team could join them.
The Diamond Head Classic runs, December 22nd, 23rd, and 25th. The Class is held at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. The teams whom have been invited to compete are, Arizona, East Tennessee State, Indiana State, Hawaii, Miami (FL), Mississippi (Ole Miss), San Diego State (SDSU) and San Francisco (USF). Based on talking a look of the talent that will be involved in this tournament we can conclude San Diego State and Arizona will be the two front runners.
The Aztecs Football team have been picked to finish 5th by Phil Steele which would land them in the Hawaii Bowl that has been played annually at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii since 2002. Typically the Hawaii Bowl is played on either Christmas Day or Christmas Eve. The opponent in which they are expected to play is Southern Methodist University (SMU). The pay out for the Hawaii bowl is $750,000 per team.
This question I pose to all Aztec fans and please give your response on the comments or on any of our social media sites. Would you like to have both the San Diego State Mens Basketball and Football team playing in Hawaii for the post season, even if that means a possible lack luster football season?
