SDSU Football: 2013 ATH Marcus Stamps Becomes Aztec’s 5th Verbal Commit.

ATH Marcus Stamps is now the fifth member of the 2013 recruiting class who has verbally committed to San Diego State University.

Stamps is an 6’1″, 198 pound running back/linebacker from Thomas Jefferson in Los Angeles, California. Stamps held offers from Cal Poly, Colorado, Nevada, and San Diego State. Stamps had an interest in California, UCLA and USC. Stamps is a powerful running back who is not afraid to be tackled. He will push the pile for extra yards if need be. Stamps also has explosive speed.

This next quote comes from the Los Angles Times:

He gets A’s in trigonometry and honors chemistry. He’s 6 feet, 198 pounds, benches 285 pounds and runs 40 yards in 4.5 seconds. He raced 97 yards for a touchdown last month against Washington Prep. He has rushed for 519 yards and averaged 8.8 tackles a game in helping lead Jefferson to a 5-0 record. And, since he was 7, Stamps says, he has had no contact with his mother or father. Stamps developed a passion for football while relying on his aunt, Valerie Robinson, for guidance and support.
