SDSU Basketball: Winston Shepard Suspended 3 Games
I guess when it rains it pours for San Diego State. San Diego State freshman star Winston Shepard has been suspended for 3 games for breaking an unspecified NCAA rule. Winston Shepard will sit out tonight’s game between San Diego State and San Diego Christian. We congratulate Coach Fisher for doing the right thing in this circumstance as the three games Winston Shepard will miss are against San Diego Christian, Missouri State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. If this information would have come out further in the week Shepard would have missed the game against USC and UCLA.
This brief release was just issued by San Diego State’s athletic department:
“The penalty is a result of Shepard inadvertently violating an NCAA rule. Upon becoming aware of the situation, the San Diego State coaching staff immediately reported the situation to the compliance staff, which self-reported the issue to the NCAA.” GoAztecs.com
#SDSU‘s Winston Shepard will be suspended for the next three games “for a violation of NCAA preferential treatment legislation.”
