Chargers: Fans react to Shaun Phillips remarks

Former San Diego Charger Linebacker Shaun Phillip’s came out an pissed off some Chargers fan’s in an interview on Sunday shortly after he signed a one-year contract with the Denver Broncos. “I’m on the good side now, Shaun Phillip’s said after signing with Denver.” This is how some fan’s responded on Twitter to Phillip’s comments. The rest of the tweets have language that is not suitable to our website.

Phillips came out this afternoon and made a statement to the Twitter world in order to attempt to apologize to angry Chargers fans.

“I will address this one time only. I have nothing but positive things to say about the Chargers.when i played their they were the good side now i play for a new team im going to say we are the good side.” – Shaun Phillips (Link)

It’s funny how we as fans can sit on social networks and message boards all day and talk bad about players, coaches, and front office staff whenever our team is struggling, but the minute a former player or media member makes a negative comment about the team all hell breaks loose. What SP said wasn’t a big deal. It’s common for players that move from one rival team to another to make that kind of statement. Its a way to hype up their new fanbase.
