BREAKING NEWS: 1st Round of Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Canceled

BREAKING NEWS – Tonight’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup First Round Match between the San Diego Flash and S.C. Corinthians USA has been canceled.

The following is part of an email sent out by US Soccer and was posted on the San Diego Flash Soccer Facebook Page.

“Please be advised that this evening’s 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup First Round Match between the San Diego Flash and S.C. Corinthians USA has been canceled due to S.C. Corinthians USA’s forfeiture of the match.”

Because of the short time that all teams had to respond to requirements of US Soccer, SC Corinthians USA was unable to get a full team registered to play.

San Diego Flash will now move on and play 2nd Round host next Wednesday in San Diego vs either LA Missioneros or PSA Elite.

Any tickets purchased will be honored at next week’s match.
