Thank you London.
An Olympic Poem
“The flag is raised, the oath has been spoken.
The torch is lit, the games are open.
From the Aquatics Centre to Greenwich Park;
to the Olympic Stadium, Old Trafford and Hampton Park.
To Pistorius’ courage, to Gabby’s performance,
To May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings and Phelps’ historic performances.
From the upsets, to the cheating.
4 years of hard work, for the 17 days of competing.
The displays of sportsmanship, tears and joy;
These London games have been one to enjoy.
The flame has now been extinguished, but the memories never fade.
Especially for the 204 Nations, and their athletes who got to play.
The World packed in Olympic Stadium one last time.
To celebrate and thank London just one more time.”
