San Diego State is favored to beat San Jose State this weekend at Qualcomm Stadium by 3.5 points. As everyone knows the Aztec defense had some issues controlling the field on defense this past weekend against North Dakota for good reason.

Looking back in the past weeks they played a Washington team who likes to play the spread followed by Army who likes to play the triple option. The Aztec defense is lockdown on the running game and does need work with passing. The Aztecs offensive is unstoppable with the double tangent of Walter Kazze and Adam Muema. The two back are averaging over five yards per carry on the season. Behind a great passing attack lead by Oregon State transfer Ryan Katz and should be All-American tight end Gavin Escobar.

Washington (2-1)

Now lets break down the San Jose State Schedule up to this point in the season. They played a great Stanford team at Stanford and barley lost. They played a horrible UC Davis team and blew them out as expected. They blew out a horrible Colorado State team who lost to the Aztecs recent opponent North Dakota 22 to 7. Colorado State’s only win on the season came against a really bad Colorado squad who were annihilated by Fresno State 69 -14.

San Jose State (2-1):

Stanford (3-0)

Win vs. UC Davis = 45 – 13
UC Davis (1-2)

Win vs. Colorado State = 40 – 20
Colorado State (1-2)

The last time San Diego State and San Jose State met was in 2008. San Jose State came away with the victory 35-10. The Aztec team in 2008 finished 2 – 10. The major offensive statistical difference was in rushing as SDSU had around 8 yards to SJSU’s 260 +. The Aztecs only gave up around 150 in the Air. This is a much different San Diego State Aztec team then the team San Jose State played.

  1. The name San Diego Sports Domination is a big misnomer because San Diego has never dominated in any sport.
