The San Diego State Women’s Soccer team is having perhaps the best season in program history. They are currently ranked No. 6 in the Nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll. The team is currently in first place in the Mountain West with a record of 16-1-1. The Aztecs gave up zero goals in their first six games and lost that streak when Iowa State scored on them.

The Aztecs only loss on the season comes from a 1-0 loss against No. 3 Stanford. Since the loss the Aztecs have gone on to nine three straight games including a 3-0 victory against Mountain West Conference foe Air Force. The victory against Air Force gave the San Diego State women’s soccer team the title of Mountain West Conference Champions.

The Aztecs have one game remaining on the schedule and that is the New Mexico Lobos before the Mountain West Conference Tourment begins. As we stated before the season began the Aztecs women’s soccer team was on the road to winning a national championship and today they move one step closer to the ultimate goal.
