Chargers: Hunt For The Next Head Coach Has begun!

The hunt for the next coach of the San Diego Chargers has begun. This morning the General Manager A.J. Smith and head coach Norv Turner of the San Diego Chargers were relieved of duty.Throughout the interview process the Chargers will not be releasing or commenting upon the names of potential interviewees during the process of the hunt for the next head coach of the San Diego Chargers. Names that have been thrown around by the Chargers fan base are Gruden and Andy Reid. Chargers Jimmy Raye not a shoe in for GM. Dean Spanos hired former Packers GM Ron Wolf, as a consultant for GM and coach search.

The following is a quote from the Chargers press conference with Chargers owner Dean Spanos this monring about the fireing of Norv Turner and A.J. Smith:

“Both Norv and A.J. are consummate NFL professionals, and they understand that in this league, the bottom line is winning. My only goal is the Super Bowl, and that is why I have decided to move in a new direction with both our head coach and general manager positions. I am committed to our great fans, and we will do whatever we possibly can to achieve that goal.” (ESPN)
