Game Day Food: EPIC Guacamole Recipe

When I first think of throwing a party for a football the first food item that comes to mind is Guacamole. Did you know that the origin of Guacamole is from that of the Aztecs in Mexico? Americans love their Guacamole and will consume on average about 8 million pounds of avocado’s annually according to the California Avocado Association.

What goes well with chips? Guacamole! That would explain the 8 million pounds of avocados football fans will be mashing up to dip their chips in. – California Avocado Commission

Our CEO and founder David Frerker has another talent besides sports writing that most people don’t know about. That talent is cooking. Frerker will be adding game day recipes that everyone will definitely fall in love with. This recipe will stand with the best Guacamole recipes in America. The recipe is battle tested and a neighborhood favorite.


  • 2 to 3 ripe avocados (California), peeled and pitted.
  • 1 tomato diced.
  • 2 cloves garlic (Minced).
  • ¼ cup (1/3 oz) chopped fresh cilantro (1 to 2 hand full’s).
  • 2 Limes juiced
  • 1 Orange Juiced
  • 1 jalapeno (with out ribs *because I am not into hot* or with ribs)
  • 1-teaspoon sea salt
  • 1-teaspoon pepper
  • 1 to 2 hand full’s of parmesan cheese

To assemble the Guacamole you need to take the avocados and place them into a big bowl. Then you would go ahead and throw the diced tomato, garlic, jalapeno into the bowl containing the avocados. Once you have added those ingredients to the bowl you can go ahead and add the juice from the limes/orange to the mixture in the bowl. Take a potato masher or a big fork and spoon and mash the ingredients together.  To finish off the Guacamole throw in the Chopped cilantro, parmesan cheese, Salt/pepper (to taste) and mix the newly added ingredients together.

The Guacamole is now ready to serve. You can of course make this dish before time if you are busy. If you are going to make the Guacamole before time make sure you save the avocado pits. You will need to throw the pits into the Guacamole and cover with plastic wrap!
