The San Diego State Aztecs will play host to the Air Force Academy for senior night this Wednesday at Viejas Arena (12,414) on the campus of San Diego State University. The Aztecs will enter Wednesday’s game as the favorites against Air Force. The players to watch in Wednesday’s game are Jamaal Franklin and Chase Tapley. Jamaal Franklin enters the game against Air Force averaging 17.2 points and 9.1 rebounds in 27 games this season. Chase Tapley enters the game against Air Force averaging 13.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 26 games this season.

For the third time in 29 weeks San Diego State is not ranked in either the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 Poll or the USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll.With the Aztecs loss to New Mexico they are now receiving zero votes in the AP Top 25 poll and seven votes in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll.The Aztecs starting five for Wednesday’s game will be Xavier Thames, JJ ‘O Brien, Jamaal Franklin, Chase Tapley and DeShawn Stephens. The line up could change before game day depending on how star point guard Xavier Thames’s back is doing. Once again the only San Diego State freshman who is red-shirting this season is Matt Shrigley. Look for Skylar Spencer, Dwayne Polee and Winston Shepard to receive a lot of minutes in Wednesday’s game.

As stated in the first sentence this game against Air Force is the San Diego State senior night. Tonight’s Senior Night ceremony will honor the following student-athletes:

We have left out San Diego State star guard Jamaal Franklin (Junior) who is debating going into the NBA a year early. The Falcons have some height on their team with Marek Olesinski, Ethan Michael (6-8), Chase Kammerer (6-8), Conner Litt (6-8), Daniel Salomon (6-9), Taylor Broekhuis (6-10) and Zach Moer (6-10). The smallest players on the Air Force team are Tre Coggins (6-2), Todd Fletcher (6-2) and Kyle Green (6-2). The Falcons have a good-sized squad that will put up a fight on the boards against a talented Aztec squad.
