The New Mexico Lobos won the Mountain West Conference regular season title this past season and are looking forward to winning their second straight Mountain West Conference tournament Championship. They face a fight for that second straight championship. Looking back at the Mountain West Conference since the departure of BYU San Diego State and New Mexico have one thing in common, meeting in the Mountain West Conference Championship game. This year San Diego State and New Mexico should meet in the semifinals for the chance to play possibly UNLV in the finals.

1st: New Mexico vs. 8th Wyoming

4th: San Diego State vs. 5th: Boise State

Barring anything weird happeing in the Mountain West Conference tournament we should see the four Mountain West Conference teams that are being picked to play in the NCAA tournament Colorado State, San Diego State, New Mexico and UNLV playing in the semifinals. Colorado State will win this years Mountain West Conference Tournament.
