SDSU Basketball: Lands Tulane Transfer Josh Davis
San Diego State has picked up a major transfer this afternoon Josh Davis. The final decision for Davis came down to Gonzaga, Ohio State and San Diego State. Davis decided to attend grad school with one year of eligibility remaining. Davis is a (6-9, 215 pound) power forward and transferred to Tulane his sophomore year from NC State. During the 2012/13 season Davis averaged 17.6 points and 10.7 rebounds good enough for 16 double-doubles to lead Conference USA.
The 6-foot-9 forward visited campus on Monday to take a tour and meet with the San Diego State University coaches. Fellow SDSU students told us that Davis appeared to be loving his visit at San Diego State. Sources told us earlier two weeks ago that Davis was close to committing to San Diego State. This afternoon Davis verbally committed to San Diego State according to CBS Sports Jeff Goodman.
I felt comfortable with the staff and the system fits me,” Davis told CBSSports.com on Wednesday while visiting San Diego State. The Aztecs also sold Davis on the comparison to former San Diego State star Kawhi Leonard, who is long and athletic and also bears a facial resemblance as well. “I’ve heard that plenty,” Davis admitted. “Even before they started recruiting me.” CBS College Sports
