Bio’s for the 2013 San Diego State Starting Defensive
Defensive Linemen:
DE: Jordan Thomas (Senior): 18 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.
DT: Sam Meredith (Junior): 36 tackles and two sacks. Meredith has been named to the All-Mountain West second team defensive by Athlon Sports and Phil Steele.
DE: Cody Galea (Junior): 22 tackles and two and a half sacks.
Linebackers:
LB: Nick Tenhaeff (Senior) 52 tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble. Tenhaeff has been named to the All-Mountain West second team defensive by Phil Steele.
MLB: Jake Fely (Senior): 90 tackles, seven sacks and two forced fumbles. Fely has been named to the All-Mountain West first team defensive from Phil Steele and Athlon Sports, in addition to being named to the Bednarik Award Preseason Watch List and 2013 Rotary Lombardi Award Preseason Watch List.
LB: Derek Largent (Junior): 61 tackles, six and a half sacks, two interceptions and one forced fumble. Largent has been named to the All-Mountain West second team defensive by Athlon Sports and All-MW third team by Phil Steele
Cornerbacks:
CB: Mahbu Keels (Junior): played in one game and had one tackle.
CB: Pierre Romain (Sophomore): played in 13 games and had 10 tackles.
Safeties:
AZ: Nat Berhe (Senior): 94 tackles, two interceptions and five defended passes. Berhe has been named to the first-team All-Mountain Defense by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports, in addition to being named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List and Jim Thorpe Award Preseason Watch List.
WAR: Eric Pinkins (Senior):65 tackles, two sacks and three interceptions (one returned for touchdown). Pinkins has been named to the All-Mountain West third team defensive by Phil Steele.
