During tonight’s San Diego State Aztec home game Dwayne Polee collapsed on the court. Polee took two or three steps and just hit the court (Video).  We all knew that this was a very serious incident as Coach Steve Fisher was on the court running to Polee’s side before the official even blew the whistle. Shortly after hitting the court Polee’s parents came running down onto the court yelling someone call 911 someone call 911. It did feel like a very long time until the EMT’s arrived at Viejas. During the 15 to 20 minute medical timeout the crowd started chanting Polee Polee Polee Polee (the chant that fans give when Polee makes a wonderful play).  Polee did leave Viejas on a streacher and was completely responsive. According to the Mighty 1090 Post Game Show Polee and his parents had taken to a local hospital.

“It’s definitely difficult,” JJ O’Brien said. “Basketball becomes something that’s not important anymore and just looking out for your teammate and hoping he’s OK is what’s on your mind. I think it was good when we saw him leave and he was OK and told us all, `Just go get a win for us.’ That made us feel a little bit better.
