SAN DIEGO, CA – (February 3, 2015) – NBC 7 San Diego has launched SportsWrap on NBC7.com, a franchise dedicated to delivering sports fans across the San Diego market with the best sports coverage, including exclusive video, photos and articles.

“As more and more people turn to their smartphones, tablets and computers for news and information , we see this as an opportunity to better serve the San Diego sports audience,” said Greg Dawson, Vice President of News at NBC 7.

Launched Wednesday, January 28, SportsWrap on NBC7.com is named after NBC 7’s Sunday night TV program, hosted by former NFL player Jim Laslavic. The new franchise is designed to enhance NBC7.com’s sports section by providing informative local and national sports updates accessible 24/7. SportsWrap on NBC7.com will share information on the Chargers, Padres, Aztecs, Toreros, Tritons and all San Diego based teams, athletes and events. The site will also offer experienced analysis on sports news and its impact on San Diego from popular local sports personalities.
