Here is a message from San Diego Flash Goal Keeper James Stroud:

Last year, as some of you may remember, my team had an ironic yet unfortunate end to our USOC run. We went through the 1st round due to the other team’s forfeiture, and we sadly ended up forfeiting ourselves in the 2nd round due to not having a field on which to play.

Shortly before this year’s USOC campaign kicked off, our CEO, founder, mentor, and friend Clent Alexander unexpectedly passed away. We’ve since dedicated our season and USOC campaign to his memory and honor. This is so important to us, but we have been struck with hardships due to his absence. Most importantly, money.

So here we are, in a situation requiring us to travel over 1,000 miles and 21 hours by bus to get to Seattle for our “win and you’re in” USOC qualifier. We were on the verge of forfeiting yet again, but my teammates and I pulled together to fund the trip out of our own pockets. But we still need help to make this a reality. Any donations would be gratefully expected. i know everyone here has a passion for the game, and we are trying to follow that passion ourselves. We will not go down without a fight! /#WinForClent
