San Diego State MBB A West Coast Power?

Let’s look at San Diego State’s rise as a west coast powerhouse for basketball. Dating back to the 2009/2010 season and the start of SDSU’s six straight NCAA Tournament appearances SDSU has a record of 97 – 19 against teams from the Western United States. That is an amazing 84% winning percentage against schools from Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Here are some interesting stats that come from breaking down the wins and losses against teams from the aforementioned seven states:

– Home 60-5  (92% Winning Percentage)

– Road 25-11  (69% Road Winning Percentage)

– Neutral: 12-3 (80% Winning Percentage)

– SDSU is 14-0 against teams from the Big West

– SDSU is 12-2 against teams from the WCC

– SDSU is 9-5 against teams from the Pac 12 (3 of the 5 losses came against Arizona)

– SDSU set its longest win streak against schools from California at 47 consecutive victories. That streak ended with a loss at Fresno State.

– SDSU is 49 -3 against schools from the great state of California.
