Final Score: Padres 7 Dodgers 3 (4/7/15 Recap)

Every Padres game this season we will have an inning by inning recap of major hits and scoring plays by the San Diego Padres. We also have embedded highlights from the game thanks to the San Diego Padres Social Media team. Rain started falling at Dodger Stadium at 5:00 p.m. and ended at 6:30 pm. The rain pushed back the start of the Padres and Dodgers to 7:40 (30 minute rain delay). Ross got rocked for two runs in the 6th inning. Adrian Gonzalez the Padres killer added another home run and 2 RBI’s. The Padres bats came alive in the top half of the 9th inning getting four runs on the Dodgers. The big blow a 2-RBI double by Derek Norris. Craig Kimbrel strikes out the side to end the game. Game three of this series kicks off Wednesday Afternoon at 7:10 pm.

Padres Rain Delay Coverage

Padres 1st Inning

– Kemp single

– Justin Upton RBI Triple scoring Matt Kemp. Crawford attempted to dive and catch the ball but missed.

 

Dodgers 2nd Inning

– Carl Crawford Doubled to right center

 

Dodgers 3rd Inning

– Jimmy Rollins Doubled to left center. Rollins was then gunned out at third trying for the triple (Justin Upton (7) -> Alexi Amarista (6) -> Will Middlebrooks (5).

 

Dodgers 6th Inning

– Yasiel Puig Doubled to left center.

– Adrian Gonzalez RBI Double to right center field.

– Howie Kendrick RBI Single to center field scores Gonzalez.

Padres 7th Inning

– Yonder Alonso singled to left field

– Clint Barmes singled to right field

– Yangervis Solarte pop-fly to center.  Jimmy Rollins whiffed on the ball for his second error allowing Alonso to score the tying run.

 

Pitching Change for the Padres Dale Thayer comes in to relive Tyson Ross after 6 sold innings.

 

Padres 8th Inning

– Derek Norris singled to left field

– Matt Kemp advanced Norris to second with the groundout.

– Justin Upton received an Intentional Walk

– Middlebrooks advances Norris with a deep out to right center field.

–  Alonso RBI single to left field drives in Norris.

 

Pitching Change for the Padres Joaquin Benoit comes in to relive Dale Thayer

Dodgers 8th Inning

– Adrian Gonzalez Solo HR ties the game at 3.

 

Padres 9th Inning

– Clint Barmes singled

– Cory Spangenberg reaches 1st on a bunt + error on Grandal. Barmes advances to 3rd.

– Wil Myers RBI Single to left field. Myers steals 2nd.

– Derek Norris 2 RBI Double scoring Spangenberg and Myers scored.

– Will Middlebrooks RBI Single to left field.

 

 

Pitching Change for the Padres Craig Kimbrel comes in to relive Joaquin Benoit

Craig Kimbrel strikes out the side to end the game.
