San Diego community rallies to honor Genevieve Costello while fundraising for Breast Cancer

San Diego, CA. June 8, 2015 – On Saturday, June 20th, Live4Gen will host the Live4Gen Charity Celebrity Basketball Game at Mount Miguel High School (San Diego, CA), showcasing a combination of San Diego’s best Basketball Alumni along with Celebrities and Professional Athletes, in honor of former San Diego Native, Genevieve Costello.

In a charitable contribution, Live4Gen brings the San Diego community together in efforts to raise breast cancer awareness and increase prevention in honor of former San Diego Native Genevieve Costello. Gen was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in April of 2013, and lost her battle on May 7, 2013.

The Live4Gen Charity Celebrity Game will tip off at 2:00pm, with the red carpet open to the public at 1:00pm. Gracing the red carpet will be notable San Diego natives Lynell Hamilton (SDSU & New Orleans Saints Super Bowl Champion), Malcolm Thomas (Philadelphia 76ers), Keenan Allen (San Diego Chargers) and more. At halftime, Live4Gen will honor Daphanie Kennedy (Kearney High School & Pepperdine University Basketball standout), with a Strength, Hope, & Fighter award as she continues to battle stage IV cancer. Proceeds raised at the Live4Gen Charity Basketball Game will be donated to the UC Davis Genevieve Costello Breast Cancer Research Fund.
