The San Diego Gulls traveled to San Jose for their first road game against the Barracuda in their black uniforms, coming up victorious with a final score of 3-2 (shootout win).

The boys came out flat, being out shot 12-5 in the first period, and down 2-0 until Brandon Montour (unassisted) scored his second of the year with under 6 seconds remaining in the period. The Gulls tied the game in the second with a Gull by Harry Zolnierzcyk (assists: Theodore, O’Brien). Both of the Gulls regulation Gulls came off of power plays. Gibson protected the net with 27 saves and did not allow a goal after the first period (including overtime/shootout). Nick Ritchie and Stefan Noesan scored in the shootout, sealing the win for the gulls. For the second straight game, San Diego was able to finish strong and come away with the W, moving to 3-0 on the year.

They play San Jose again at the SAP Center on Friday, October 23rd at 7:00 pm. Game can be heard on 1700 am or 1090 am (games alternate) or viewed with an AHL subscription. Alternatively, Rockin’ Baja Lobster, Gulls official partner, shows all Gulls games at their Old Town location, so come out for great hockey!
