Albion SC is a nationally recognized youth program, with some of the best teams and players in the U.S. Albion Pros will be the senior team that sits atop the youth program. This team will be the model for the youth club, and will provide professional soccer for Albion SC and San Diego spectators. In addition, Albion SC will develop and showcase top talent currently in the club through playing opportunities with Albion Pros, as well as allowing former Albion SC players to return from their collegiate careers to continue playing.

“Albion SC is one of the best youth clubs in the country when it comes to player development,” said Joe Barone, NPSL Chairman. “We are thrilled to have Albion join NPSL and we expect great things of them in 2016. Our fans and supporters in the West should be very excited about this new addition.”

Albion Pros’ high level staff will include Executive Director Noah Gins, Director of Operations and Marketing Nick Surface, Director of Soccer Wayne Crowe and Head Coach Ziggy Korytoski. Gins is also the Executive Director of the Albion SC youth club, leading the organization for the past 19 years. During that time, he has grown the club from six teams in 1998 to 110 teams in 2015, developing some of the best players and teams in the U.S., and recreating the model in South Florida and Orange County.

“We chose the NPSL for its ability to gain access to a highly professional league that offers great support to the teams,” said Gins. “We want to attract the right type of players to play the right type of soccer and offer our fans and players the best possible entertainment value. Our professional staff and organization will help us be even more competitive and successful right out of the gate. Appointing Ziggy Korytoski as head coach will enable us to be the top team within this league straight away.”

Ziggy Korytoski brings a host of experience and credentials with him, including UEFA “A” and USSF “A” licenses.  Along with currently coaching at San Diego State and previously at the University of Hawaii, he has had two stints as head coach for professional clubs in Guatemala’s top league with Deportivo Coatepeque and Antigua GCF. Korytoski also held the position of head coach and technical director of the Northern Mariana Islands’ men’s and women’s national teams. He has enjoyed numerous successes in the college and professional ranks with the highlight being promotion to the Guatemala’s top league with Antigua GCF. Korytoski will bring this same approach to ensure Albion Pros provides an entertaining and winning brand of soccer.

“In addition to what the team will offer on the field, we have exciting plans in the works to ensure match day atmosphere is exceptional and memorable. We are very much looking forward to our inaugural season in 2016,” added Nick Surface.

With the first games to be played in March 2016 at Serra High School (located at 5156 Santo Road, 92124), Albion Pros will hold open tryouts to discover and recruit the best talent within San Diego starting on December 19, 2015.
