San Diego has been in a draught over the past few years. In my previous internship I worked as a social media specialist/radio show producer for Carlos Gutierrez of Coldwell Banker. Gutierrez is one of the top real estate agents in San Diego. We hosted a radio show on AM 1170 once a week in which we talked about real estate and answered questions on home improvement. We talked a ton about how to draught proof homes in San Diego and how to get rebates. In today’s article we are going to give you 5 reasons why you should put in an artificial putting green. If you want to get an estimate for your home check out Water Wise Grass. They will hook you up.
#1) You will save money on not having to water your lawn.
According to the Synthetic Turf Foundation: typical lawn of 1800 square feet can require 56,000 gallons of water for maintenance each year. Synthetic grass enables homeowners to conserve that water. Tax credits and rebates are being offered to residential and corporate users by an increasing number of local governments in light of the tremendous impact on water conservation. (LINK)
#2) It will make your house pop!
According to fake grass.com, Artificial grass can really make a house pop and look much better than others on the market. In today’s competitive housing market this can mean the difference between sale and no sale. With California’s environmental concerns, having the perfect lawn can be a challenge. Many municipalities are imposing restrictions on what days of the week a homeowner can water their lawn. (LINK)
#3) Real Grass maybe a trigger for allergies.
According to WebMD.com, Grass pollen is a common trigger for allergies — and symptoms like runny or stuffy nose, itchy eyes, and cough. There are hundreds of types of grasses. Types that often trigger allergies include: Bermuda grass, Johnson grass, Kentucky bluegrass, Orchard grass, Redtop grass, Rye grass, Sweet vernal grass, and Timothy grass. (LINK)
#4) You can get a government rebate:
The San Diego County Water Authority introduced a new program in 2015 that allowed locals to replace their turf grass with artificial grass. In the hopes of getting more people involved with the pilot phase of the program, the SDCWA created an artificial grass rebate to go along with the program. This allows San Diego residents to purchase all the artificial turf and other supplies they need for 10 percent less than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. This discount to both those who hire someone to install the grass and those who do the job themselves.(LINK)
#5) Golf is fun. You can create your own hole. This is what one of our real estate clients was debating doing with a property that he was looking into:
With so much flexibility, you can finally create your putting green the way you want to. Whether you’re taking your golfing career seriously or simply as a hobby, our customized putting greens will ultimately make you a better putter. Plus, you won’t need to leave your driveway in order to appreciate this premium putting experience. And if it doesn’t, it’s still a great way to have fun and play the game that you love from the comfort of your own residential property. By choosing your own slopes and elevations, you’ll be able to challenge yourself in ways that you wouldn’t be able to do otherwise while on a regular golf course. (LINK)
