Sockers defeat Furry 1-0 in mini-game to advance to next round of NASL playoffs.

Coming off of a 9-4 victory in game 1, the San Diego Sockers went into Ontario on Tuesday for game 2 of their 1st round playoff series against the Ontario Fury. The Sockers would start slow and the Fury capitalized by taking a quick 3-0 lead and the 1st quarter would end with the Sockers down 0-3. Sockers would finally get on the board in the second quarter as Max Touloute would find the back of the net to make it a 1-3 deficit. Sockers would score a few minutes later as Touloute would find Tovar for their second goal as Sockers would go down 2-3 but not before some pushing and shoving as teams were heading to the locker rooms. The second half would start the same way as the 1st half with the Fury scoring to make the score 2-4. But Sockers wouldn’t waste any time responding as Cesar Cerda would bring the game back to withing one goal 3-4. The referee called a horrible game has the players got continued to try and fight each other in a chippy game. The ref gave the Sockers a blue card and Ontario would capitalize to double their lead to 3-5. The Sockers would try and they would come so close to tying the game but they just couldn’t get a goal to Fall. Ontario would increase their lead to 4-6 and the Sockers would respond by being in a 6th attacker. Sockers would be held scoreless in the 4th but the Fury took advantage of the empty net twice as they would roll to an 8-4 victory in game 2 to force a mini-game to decide who will move on to the semi-finals. The Sockers would waste no time starting the mini-game as Luan Oliveira knocked in the 1st goal just 9 seconds into the mini-game. The mini-game was no different as far as how bad the referee was with bad call after bad call and missed call after missed call coming one after another. The Fury appeared to score the tying goal as Toth dived to attempted to prevent a goal. The referee said the ball did not entirely pass the Goal Line (must have been by half an inch) and the score would remain 1-0. The crowd would follow with “Ref You Suck” Chants. The last 14:51 of this game was epic, scary, and edge of your seat type stuff as Fury got closer and closer to scoring including just missing a shot off the top right corner bar of the Goal Post with 40 seconds left but the
