National Lacrosse League has now canceled weeks three and four of the 2018-19 season
SAN DIEGO — The National Lacrosse League has now canceled weeks three and four of the 2018-19 season (Dec 15-22).
Both the NLL and the Professional Lacrosse Players Association (PLPA) have been trying to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement. The latest offer was proposed by the PLPA and rejected by the NLL. In an interview last week the PLPA was quoted as saying, “The league has rescinded their offer of yesterday and offered a less attractive deal with a new deadline. We are getting further apart. The reason given was the cancelled games which incidentally happened prior to the last proposal.”
From a source within the Seals organization that has knowledge of the situation, but is asking to remain anonymous stated: “the players are starting to get frustrated with the PLPA and just want to start playing.”
