San Diego (3-2) will have a quick turnaround after this statement win as they will travel to Vancouver to take on the Warriors for the first time in franchise history.
Calgary (3-3) also has a short turnaround as they travel to Denver to take on the Mammoth in an afternoon contest at Pepsi Center in the Colorado Capital.

For the night, Austin Staats had another Staats night as he scored a hat trick and had four assists to give him the lead in rookie scoring with 29 points (16g, 13a).
The Roughnecks came out of the shoot in a hurry as they scored twice in the opening five minutes. That quieted the crowd for a time, however “The Wonder Boy” Staats put two in within 45 seconds to tie the game up. Brodie Merrill scored a short-handed goal to give the Seals their first lead of the night.
Between the 4:32 mark of the first quarter and 1:00 minute mark of the second quarter (11:28 span) the Seals went on a 4-0 run. Not the only big run of the night for the Purple and Gold. Calgary scored another pair of goals in a quick run to make it 4-4. The teams traded goals to make it 5-all at the 9:47 mark of the second quarter. That would be the last time that Calgary would be in striking range.
The last three minutes of the first half, San Diego saw Casey Jackson (3g), Garrett Billings (2g, 4a) and Johnny Pearson (goal) all score to make it 8-5 Seals at the break.
Ninety-six seconds into the second half Dan Dobbie (2g, 3a) scored his second goal of the night. It was at this point, that the Seals went on a 6-0 run over the last 12 and a half minutes of the quarter.
The teams thought that since the Norton vs Ali fight was fought in Pechanga Arena in 1973, they thought they would do their own version. The only problem was that the referees didn’t want to have a reenactment. Dobbie and Merrill decided to face off with each other by tossing their sticks to the side. The referees didn’t like that too much and stepped in the middle of the scrum. Both parties received penalties. Merrill got five, while Dobbie got a two-minute minor and a five-minute major for intentional contact with a dead ball. Calgary’s discipline went out the door as they were called for four more penalties after the incident.
Adrian Sorichetti capped the scoring with an empty netter, that he shot from his own defensive crease.
The next home game for the Seals will be on Feb. 8 when Vancouver comes to the Tank for a 7:05 faceoff.
