STRIKE FORCE RE-SIGNS RALPH HARVEY JR.

Linebacker & Defensive End returns after 40 tackles last season

SAN DIEGO, California (October 2, 2019) – The Strike Force have re-signed linebacker and defensive end Ralph Harvey Jr. to their 2020 Indoor Football League roster.

Harvey Jr. (6-3, 250, Houston) played in six games last season and finished second on the team with 40 (23 solos) total tackles. The linebacker had 2.5 tackles for loss along with forcing and recovering two fumbles against the Nebraska Danger (June 6). In his second game with San Diego, he totaled 15 tackles including a pass breakup versus the Tucson Sugar Skulls (May 9).

“Ralph was a great addition to our team late in the season following an open workout in San Diego where he clearly impressed,” said Strike Force General Manager Ryan Eucker. “We’re excited to have him back with a full offseason of preparation. Beyond his capabilities on the field, he’s also a high- character guy and great leader in the locker room.”

Before making an impact right away in the IFL, Harvey Jr. played football at the University of Houston for three seasons and helped the Cougars to a 13-1 record in 2016. He made his way to Houston after transferring from El Camino College (Torrance, CA). Harvey Jr. led El Camino with 71 tackles in nine games in 2014 and had 4.5 tackles for loss including one sack while picking off two passes and recovered two fumbles. In 2013, he had 57 tackles including 5.5 for loss and returned one interception for 23 yards while breaking up two passes and blocking a kick. Harvey Jr also shined in the classroom as he was named a 2013-14 El Camino Scholar-Baller.

A native of Los Angeles, he played defensive end and tight end in high school at Washington Prep where he was also a member of the school’s basketball program and selected to the 2010-11 All-L.A. City Basketball Second Team.
