Do you like hiking? We have a great series of articles for you. We love hiking and it is tons of fun. One of the best places to hike in San Diego is the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve has many great trails for beginners or experts. Hikes that range from 0.5 miles to 10+ miles depending on how you mix and match trails. Throughout the next few weeks we will be adding articles to this post on different hikes that we recommend and have constructed for those who are new or old to hiking the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve.

This article is our main article talking about where you should park if you want to enter the park. The hikes will depend on where you would like to park. There are four (4) parking locations for access to the State Natural Reserve.

PARKING:

You have two parking options in the “North” and two in the “South. The park is split into two halfs northern and southern. You can park near the intersection of Carmel Valley Road and Mc Gonigle Road for free or park on Mc Gonigle Road (North Beach parking lot) and you will have to pay a fee to park. These are great parking lots if you are looking to extend your walk, hike or run. Parking in these areas will add an extra mile onto your workout if you are playing to hike the southern park.

If you wish to park closer to the hiking trails you have two options. You can park in the south beach lot which has the following costs: $10-12 Mon-Thurs, $12-15 Fri-Sun and Holidays (low-high season; major holidays may have an additional fee.) You can also park on top the mesa in the reserve lots which has the same cost as parking in the south beach lots.
